  1. Dear Charlie,
When and where did your grandmother live? Do you know who made her original pipe?

Well done! Very nice proportions! SL

Most everything that is posted on this blog is wonderful & exceptional work. But I'm amazed that so few people bother to take a moment to post any comments. Why is this so? I hear lots of comments about this web site via email and in person, but no one bothers to put thier thoughts and appreciations in words for the artists to read.
As a craftsman of 30 years, I know how it is to display your work before others and receive little or no feedback. It made me think that my work was unappreciated by everyone except the few that bought something...only to learn later that people who's opinions I respected were telling others, (but not me) how much they liked what I did. Now that I'm a greybeard I'm not dependant on praise....but you folks out there need to express yourselves to the artists, most especially the young artists who need not only your patronage but your praise.
    Quit sitting on your thumbs!

At the very least ask some questions! SL

  2. We will ask Charlie these questions next time we talk to him. He does not have a computer. JR
