Antique Hunting Pistol

This pistol is believed to have been made in the deep South (Georgia?) for a member of the Creek or Cherokee Indian "Deer Clan".

Photographed at the 2011 Tennessee Kentucky Rifle Show by Jan Riser.

  1. It would be most interesting to hear why this gun is believed to have been made for Indians. Is the statement based only upon the deer effigy or is there more information to support this supposition?

  2. The information that I posted was from the tag that was with the pistol at the show.
