Campaign Style Powder Horn by Art DeCamp

Here are some shots of a campaign style horn I recently completed.  I think it is the first time I ever did a campaign horn with the full F&I style British Crest and New York Map engraving.  It has the stepped down neck with engrailed edge, a lobe at the butt end for strap attachment and a raised ring on the neck end for the strap.  It is fully engraved in the style of the "Pointed Tree Carver" with the traditional British crest, and map of New York starting at the harbor in NYC and extending north up the Hudson River to Lake Champlain.  Towns and forts along the route include Albany, Schenectady, Forts Hunter, Herkimer, Stanwix; Half Moon, Johnston's home, Saratoga, Fort Edward, Lake George, Fort George, Ticonderoga, Lake Champlain, Crown Point.  In addition there is the hunter shooting at a buck deer with flintlock rifle.  The horn is colored with nice golden patination and a light amount of "ageing".  This horn measures about 11" across and approximately 2-7/8" diameter at the butt and is fine for right-hand carry.
